Tiny Shoots: A Spring Tee

Since it's all sunny and lovely outside (no? Come to Yorkshire!) I've found myself looking for lighter knitwear. So here's some inspiration, in the form of one of my absolute favourites . It's Tiny Shoots, by Kate Heppell. It's a simple knit, with a lace section at the top, which is both written and charted in the pattern. Kate's original sample (in the Ravelry pics) was done in BFL Sock in Bluebell, but this sample of mine is done in Milburn 4ply. We still have some skeins of Rust for sale with a clearance discount (because although I adore this...

This week..

Since this week has been particularly busy and stressful, but has included so much yarn, I thought I'd best share it with the world. It'd be rude not to, really. It's been gloriously sunny for a lot of the week. I've been dyeing a large volume of yarn, as well as dealing with a load of other stuff. I've made amigurumi and several ripple blankets but that's it. So it felt like a bit of a daunting project, but I just...

Wonderwool: a round up.

Thanks to everyone who came to find visit our stall at Wonderwool Wales last weekend. We appreciate your lovely comments, your purchases, your projects, and your enthusiasm. We had such a lovely time, a successful show (with an exception which I'll talk about in a mo), and glorious Welsh sunshine. Here's a wee glimpse of our stall, which looked a bit ravaged by the end. We stayed in the lovely Llandrindod Wells as usual, and it's so peaceful and beautiful.. Just lovely. There were many sheep (the top two are Wensleydales and the bottom two are Bluefaced Leicesters). But... Here's...

An interview with Jane Burns + her new book release

Today sees the release of a gorgeous new book from Jane Burns called Lazy Sunday Socks. It's a really beautiful collection: when Jane chose her skeins of yarn from us she picked a soft, dusky palette that I absolutely loved, and I was confident that Jane would create textures and designs that would work well with that. She did exactly that. When you see the pairs of socks together you can instantly tell they are from one cohesive collection, and they just look so cosy, appealing, and fun to both make and wear. We'll have Jane's books on our Wonderwool...
