Welcome to Eden Cottage Yarns, where you will find beautifully hand dyed yarns, original designs, and more. The yarn is dyed with an emphasis on simple but gorgeous colours, as well as sustainability, and ECY has become synonymous with a muted palette of semi-solid shades. Victoria's designs can be found on our website, on Payhip HERE, and have appeared in most of the British knitting magazines too.

You will also see her yarns in stock at a number of yarn shops around the world (see our stockists list HERE). Eden Cottage Yarns has been featured on BBC Radio Wales, BBC Radio Cumbria, and in The Knitter, Let's Knit, Inside Crochet, Let's Get Crafting, Knit Now, Simply Knitting, Knit Today, and Simply Homemade among others.

So, how did it all start? Having always been creative, and interested in textiles, Victoria taught herself to knit in 2006 whilst at university in Dundee. At the time there was little yarn available in shops, and unable to find the colours she wanted she had a go at dyeing her own. Over the next few years she continued dyeing in her spare time, and also taught herself to spin, amongst other things. In November 2011, she moved to a cottage in Eden Valley in Cumbria, and Eden Cottage Yarns was born.

Ten years on it has continued to grow, and Victoria now works (and lives!) in a much more modern (50s) house in West Yorkshire. In 2018, after seven years Victoria finally moved out of the kitchen and into a purpose-built dye shed; and took on three more staff (Laura, Claire, and Debbie) to help with admin, plus yarn processing and packing orders.

Even with these changes, Eden Cottage Yarns is still very much a cottage industry and as such is not able to accommodate visitors.

Those wishing to see our yarns in person can do so by visiting one of our
Stockists or coming to see us at a show, news of which can be found on our FAQs page.
