Magic Circles Blanket by Jane Crowfoot - Dusk palette: Yarn pack only

Yarn pack for the Magic Circles blanket by Jane Crowfoot. The pattern is available on Jane's website HERE.

Jane initially designed the blanket and used it as the inspiration for the wrap made in Milburn DK. Since the release of the wrap people have asked us for yarn packs for the original blanket and so here they are. Jane used my yarn palette to create just the most perfect project for it. She combined the colours really cleverly, and the tiny tassels are the icing on the cake. I honestly can’t gush enough about it. 🤣🥰

Images of the wrap are from the Janie Crow instagram account and have been used with permission of Jane.

Introduction by Jane:

“I love looking at how shapes fit together and have wanted to create a tessellating circle design for some time. Circular motifs can be tricky to fit together and it is common to find the circular shape becomes slightly distorted when motifs are pieced together, so rather than create motifs that are square or octagonal, I designed cross-shaped infill pieces that protect the shape of the large circles."

Jane has published a YouTube video explaining the joining technique and you can see it HERE.

Finished size: 117cm square / 46in square

The yarn pack includes 34 x 50g balls of Milburn DK in the colours required for the pattern in the following quantities:

Althaea x 8
Steel x 6
Wicker x 4
Tea Rose x 4
Dusk x 4
Bramble x 2
Harvest Gold x 2
Catmint x 2
Thyme x 2

All yarn packs come with the added bonus of a discounted price compared with purchasing the components individually.

Soft and drapey British Bluefaced Leicester wool blended with silk. This yarn comes in balls meaning you can cast on immediately!

This yarn is so light to wear, and yet lovely and warm and hardwearing, with gorgeous, rich depth of colour and a beautiful sheen from the silk. It's great for a really wide range of projects, and being machine washable makes it a bit more practical.

Yarn info:
85% British Bluefaced Leicester, 15% Mulberry Silk
50g balls
112m/122yds
3.5 - 4.5mm needles (US 4 - 7)
3.5 - 5.5mm hook (US E-4 to I-9)

Machine washable on a gentle/wool cycle

We recommend that if you are planning to use a dark colour with a pale colour to make a swatch with them both and wash it to make sure no colour contamination occurs before starting your project. Hot water in particular can make colours run; if in doubt use cool water and no soap/detergent.
