Sheep of Ireland

We were in Ireland (Valley of the Hare near Sneem - hugely recommended) last week.. There were lots of sheep, and I found myself sort of cataloging them. Yes, I know how to live. I shared some on social media but there are more, so here's a gallery of them (including our fluctuating and naughty garden flock). If any are blurry it's because they're phone snaps. Enjoy!                                                                                       To finish, here's a little mountain hare next to the house....

This week at ECY Towers

As always, it's been another busy week here at ECY Towers (a small 70s brick house).    We finished and sent some heaps of yarn off to Loop in London - Bowland DK, Titus 4ply, and Theseus Lace.       We nearly finished an order for Yarnaholic Japan, which includes Theseus Lace, Titus 4ply, and Titus DK.           After stormy weather, we finally got a glorious sunny day yesterday.    We had a really exciting delivery from Yuki aka Wood Works Crando in Japan (more on that soon... There are LAMBS!).        And we welcomed wonderful new stockist,...

May Update

Today's update is only a small one, but has some lovely jewels in it. There's Titus DK (superwash merino/silk)..     And Tempo DK (superwash wool/nylon)..     There's also a little Titus 4ply, including Rambling Rose, which many people have been asking about. Next month there will be more, as well as more Aisling Shawl kits. We also have a very exciting delivery of hand carved things on its way from Japan, which will be involved in next month's update. Last week's colour inspiration

Whilst I work I'm constantly snapping away on my phone when new colour combinations pop up - whether that's in the sink for a soak, or hung up on the drying rack. So I thought I'd share a few instead of just hording them on my phone! By the way, some of these are on the website, some are not (because they're off to retailers). Above: Rambling Rose (left) and Dark Oak (right).  Above: Steel (top), Geum (middle/left), Wild Raspberry (middle/right), Rambling Rose (front/left), Linen (front/right). Above: Steel (grey), Stone (oatmeal), Driftwood (beige), Algae (green), and Salvia (purple).  Above (top...

Welcome to the cottage

Some of you may be wondering why I'd move from an integrated website blog to a third party blog.. well I just prefer Wordpress. It's so much easier for me to edit, and it looks way nicer. With that in mind I hope you'll find the improved and hopefully more frequent posts interesting, useful, and inspiring.
