Calling test knitters: Thornfield

We're seeking test knitters for these beauties by Jane Burns. You don't have to do all three, but we do need all three testing if y see what I mean. They're worked in 4ply with optional beading, and there are multiple sizes for each piece (there's a short cowl version!). Interested? Please go and sign up at our shiny new ECY Testers group on Ravelry!

Fuchsia Friday

Following my last colour-themed post, when I noticed more yarn/flower colour matching happening in the garden, of course I had to play again. This time it's all about the pink. First up.. The yarn is BFL Sock in Alpine (for Kathy's Knits in Edinburgh) - it's named for the bright pinks of many alpines, e.g. saxifrage, pincushion flowers, and... All I'm going to say for now is that it is quite large, we've been working on it for most of the year, and it's due out in September....

Order dispatch: Yarn Culture

Many of you will know that Yarn Culture in NY is our flagship US stockist, and you may be interested to see what we have in store for them, when it hopefully arrives safely there! Here's a preview and peek behind the scenes of what we've sent. It's a picture-heavy post, so may take a few minutes to load up, but hopefully the yarn p*cough*orn is worth the wait. ;)

Welcome to part two of tomorrow's update preview! It's just photos of yarn, but I thought the different colour combinations might help you decide (or make it worse!). First of all I did do five batches of Tempo 4ply (superwash wool/nylon) - they are Dandelion, Compost, Coppice, Steel and Antique Rose (which is a surprisingly difficult to photograph colour - it's very pale lilacy pink). Ok and the final hand dyed yarns for the update are all on Oakworth 4ply (100% superwash Polwarth wool). I am really loving this yarn and it seems you are too (it's nice to know...
