Today I'm wearing my Buccaneer, so I thought I'd tell you about it. It's also pertinent because it's by Justyna Lorkowska, who has also just released Piccadilly in conjunction with Loop London, and that uses ECY Hayton 4ply, so there's a link! Buccaneer is worked end-to-end, mostly in garter stitch, with two stripe sections. For those stripe sections you can either pick chevron stripes or wave stripes. I went for the wave stripes.. (We took our photos at Malham in the Yorkshire Dales). I was after a dusky, romantic sort of palette, so my main colour is Hayton 4ply in Compost, and my contrast colours are various 4ply yarns in Natural, Stone, and Rambling Rose. Yardage details are on the Ravelry page (link at the top of the page). I love how smooshy the shawl is, but then when it opens out it's delicate and enveloping. There are loads of really cool and beautiful versions on Ravelry so do check it out.
