Many of you will be familiar with using Ravelry to purchase digital patterns and if you have previously bought printed patterns from us, you will have received a download code for use on Ravelry.
For a while now we have been wanting to include the digital download capability to our website and we are pleased to announce that this function is now fully up and running.
What does this mean for you?
There is now a separate menu for patterns allowing you to search more easily based on key categories eg, Knitting/Crochet, yarn weight. There is also a separate category for digital copies only.
How does it work?
To purchase a digital pattern file, find the listing for the pattern you would like to purchase, add it to your cart and complete the purchase in the normal way. You will then receive an email with a link to start the digital download to your device. The pdf file will then be ready for you to use. You may download the file to multiple devices allowing you to take your project with you wherever you go and you will be able to print the pattern if you wish to do so.
Please ensure you have an appropriate pdf reader on your device.
Patterns for which we own the digital rights, now also include a free digital download from our website as well as a Ravelry download code which can be found printed on the pattern. Product listings for patterns with download files associated have been updated to make reference to this. You will receive the link to download the pattern once your order has been shipped. We can create a download link before this point but will only be able to do so during normal working hours (9am - 5pm Monday to Friday excluding Public Holidays and annual leave).
Digital pattern downloads are classed as a service provided in the location in which it is used and so within the EU, taxes will be applied at the rate applicable in the country in which the purchase has been made. e-books are also therefore a service and so have VAT applied to the purchase price. The products have been set up so that you do not need to worry about these issues but at least now you know why the pricing may vary. As an aside, our Ravelry pricing has been adjusted to be in line with the pricing on this website.
Digital patterns are non-returnable once the file has been downloaded.
For any technical issues with the download of your pattern please contact email@example.com
Queries and advice about specific patterns would be most welcome (and probably receive more helpful answers from others who have used the patterns) in our facebook group The ECY Garden or in our Ravelry group HERE.
