Did you know you can search by colour?

For some of you, browsing our website may usually be restricted to yarn released specifically as part of an update. With an increased frequency of updates and stock being available for longer afterwards, it would be understandable to become overwhelmed with choice. You probably already use the Shop Yarn menu with the options to select each yarn by name but what if you have a project in mind for which you have a rough idea of a colour you would like to use but are not that picky about which yarn to use? This is definitely something I struggle with...

Do you have any colour combination advice?

I do! Well, sort of. Firstly, I'll just say now - we don't have colour cards for the hand dyed shades, for a few reasons, which I've explained HERE. However... what I do have is a Flickr album full of colour combination ideas for Milburn 4ply (and soon DK). Is ECY yarn cruelty free?

In short: yes. The element of unethical or cruelty-involved wool stems from merino - in Australia, due to the environment and merino sheep being very wrinkly, they are prone to something called flystrike. Be warned: if you google this you will not like what you see. It’s worth looking it up but you will see graphic images. It’s a horrible and painful thing.
