Leeds Wool Festival 2016
To start with: thankyou to everyone who came to Leeds Wool Festival last weekend. It was a brilliant show - busy, friendly, and happy. As you know, I love Armley Mills, so it was an absolute joy just to spend time there, but add to that the lovely atmosphere of the show and it was just a really good day out. Lots of people commented on my top hat - I bought it at Leeds Steampunk Market at Armley Mills last year, and have decorated it with strips of silk fabric (the pink is hand dyed.. obvs). There were lambs outside...

This week at ECY
Another hectic week rolls by.. there's been a lot of yarn, as always. The amazingly good drying weather helped. It makes the laborious tasks (tying, twisting, and labelling) a lot more enticing when they afford the opportunity to sit outside and do them. It's not new this week but is still pretty new - I finally made myself a proper blush shade. I've been meaning to for ages, but somehow never got around to it. I love dusky pinks and apricots - well anything dusky really, so now I've got a proper blush I think it widens the palette. It...

Update preview: May 2016
Just a quick preview of what will be in today's update, which goes up at http://www.edencottageyarns.com at 12 noon UK time. Firstly, we've not been able to get our superwash wool/nylon blend, Tempo 4ply, for absolutely ages, but finally it is back. Here's one of each colour: There's everybody's favourite: Titus 4ply. It's been gloriously sunny for a lot of the week. I've been dyeing a large volume of yarn, as well as dealing with a load of other stuff. My Instagram feed does feature the pretty stuff, but behind the scenes life is full of the usual pressures, plus there's all the hard work that running any business involves. That's Titus 4ply in Grace, above. It's a new shade of light...

Wonderwool: a round up.
Thanks to everyone who came to find visit our stall at Wonderwool Wales last weekend. We appreciate your lovely comments, your purchases, your projects, and your enthusiasm. We had such a lovely time, a successful show (with an exception which I'll talk about in a mo), and glorious Welsh sunshine. Here's a wee glimpse of our stall, which looked a bit ravaged by the end. We stayed in the lovely Llandrindod Wells as usual, and it's so peaceful and beautiful.. Just lovely. There were many sheep (the top two are Wensleydales and the bottom two are Bluefaced Leicesters). But... Here's...
