ECY monthly round up: August 2023

  The past couple of months have been really busy here at ECY Shedquarters! Can we talk about neutral colours for a moment? Firstly, what constitutes a neutral? For me it’s a colour that isn’t leaning towards any particular colour group, if that makes sense. What does semi-solid mean? Your guide to hand dyed yarns..

Ever wondered what terms like semi-solid, variegated, or OOAK mean? Hopefully this blog post will help explain and guide you through the myriad of hand dyed yarns that are available now. Firstly let me tell you a bit about production of hand dyed yarn, which will give you some context. It arrives from the mill in un-dyed skeins, meaning that the wool is not bleached or anything, it’s simply in its natural colour (in this case cream). For the love of aran yarns

Our next hand dyed yarn update is all about aran; and having been knitting with it a lot recently as a result, it's reminded me how wonderful aran yarns are to work with! They're a joy to dye, they're lovely to twist up because they're full of bounce and very forgiving, they're lovely to work with because they knit or crochet up so quickly but without being too bulky, and they're lovely to wear because they don't feel heavy yet they are so warm and cosy. The big summer Titus update: more info

Hello! As you may know, we're having an update tonight (31.07.17), which is all about the Titus..
