You may have seen us selling these like sweets in a sweet shop at shows, or perhaps you've seen our cute jars full of them online... we get asked certain questions about them over and over so thought it'd be sensible to put our answers in a blog post. Why we love Polwarth sheep and wool!

We talk a lot about our love of merino and bluefaced Leicester yarn but we have been also using New Zealand Polwarth wool in our Oakworth yarns for years. To let you know why we love this fabulous breed we wanted to share some information about why they are so amazing. Breed Polwarth sheep originated in Australia in the 1800s (in fact it is their centenary year this year!) when Lincoln and Merino bloodlines were mixed.
