Free pattern: Crocheted Flowers

Find the pattern below for these sweet little flowers. The pattern isn't tested and should be simple, but do let me know if you think there's an error. If you struggle to know which stitches are which try putting a lightbulb pin in the second treble of each 3tr on round 2 to mark the centre of each petal. This will help to make sure that you get the stitches in the right places on round 3.  This is a simple little pattern but it still took me ages (I spent way too long on it tbh!) of making up...

Hayton 4ply: Projects and Patterns using our merino, cashmere, nylon blend

It occurred to us that it might be really useful to have an ECY way to browse patterns and projects made using specific yarns, for inspiration and ideas. It's one of those things where once you think of it it seems blatantly obvious 🙈🤣  Just FYI - there are no links to Ravelry here. We've linked to patterns and projects that are available to purchase/view elsewhere.  Hayton 4ply is a beautiful mix of smooth, bouncy merino, a little nylon to make it more hard wearing, and a dash of cashmere for the ultimate luxury. Kismet Cowl by Rachel Illsley - a colourwork DK weight cowl from Rachel Illsley

Earlier this year we were very excited about the Kismet sweater by Rachel Illsley of Unwind Knitwear as it included our yarn, which is such an honour. Kismet is a colourwork sweater using four colours and small intricate patterns inspired by composer Alexis Ffrench. You can find the pattern for it sweater HERE. The sweater used Oakworth 4ply in Driftwood with three other 4ply/fingering weight yarns and so naturally we created yarn packs for it which you can find HERE. Our Oakworth 4ply yarn packs sold out but Milburn 4ply packs are still available now. This set is the closest colour match...

What can I make with a 4ply/Fingering Five Skein Fade Set?

Have you seen a pack of five skeins in a fade set and been tempted but don't know what to use them for? Well look no further... here's some pattern inspiration for you!   Fading Point by Joji Locatelli  The original pattern that inspired us to make five skein fade sets in the first place!     Starting Point by Joji Locatelli The precursor to Fading Point. This might not be as obvious with how to use a fade set but could look very striking. It is only available on Ravelry at the moment. Here's how it looks with five colours (but not a fade):...

Pattern ideas for three-colour combinations

In about 2011 there was a shawl pattern released which used three colours of 4ply/fingering weight yarn and *wasn't* a triangular one. It seemed all new at the time as the trend had been for one-skein triangular shawls. That pattern was Veera Valimaki's Colour Affection and since then three-colour shawl patterns in all different shapes have remained popular. I realise she won't have been the first to release a three-colour pattern by the way, it just seemed like that was the first super-popular one.  Whenever we do our yarn updates I always try to make time to photograph colour combinations...
