Project: An unexpected collection of Nimbus Cowls

This is a little tale about a couple of dog walkers who are also knitters and really really love knitting and wearing cowls…    The thing is with cowls is that when you’re dogwalking and you bend down to clip the dogs leads on etc a cowl won’t flap about or get in the way like scarves do. I’ve long been a fan. Way before they were on-trend ;)    ECY yarn-enabler Debbie is the same. And she came to work one day with this gorgeous project - a cowl made using grey 4ply (Tempo 4ply) held double with pink fluffy...

ECY does Shawlography - an MKAL by Stephen West

MKALs (mystery knit-a-longs) are not normally something that I get involved in because I am usually so far behind with new pattern releases that the KAL element is already over by the time I get involved! The closest I normally get is creating yarn packs for others to make wonderful things from. But for some reason this one hit at just the right time (Oct 2021 I think) and when I was in the mood for doing something different. I mentioned it to yarn-enablers Debbie and Claire and it piqued their interest too, so before we knew it we had an ECY Shedquarters...

I changed it years ago as I decided I didn't want to recommend it as a sock yarn, as although I know a lot of people...

#FOFriday - is it cheating if it's really small??

Further to my previous post about an old FO that I've only just got photos of, this post is about a much smaller FO which I did actually make this week... and I managed to get it finished and photographed by Friday..!  For now - these are my Lambing Mitts. This is a pattern by Veronika Jobe for Tolt Yarn and Wool - it's on Ravelry HERE.  I made these to test out a new yarn we're bringing out in a couple of weeks - Bowland Aran. We've had Bowland DK and Bowland 4ply (was BFL Sock) for years -...

#FOFriday - is it cheating if it's old??

Friday = #FOFriday except usually I finish stuff over the weekend and miss it, then don't get pics until at least the next weekend after that.  So my question is: is it cheating if one of them is really old (I only just got pics)??! Let me tell you about it: it's my Morse Code cardi/jacket (I think it looks more jacket-y), which took a very long time to crochet (about a year) and I made too small. Sigh. Although it's not the end of the world seeing as I have been shrinking over the past year, but still.. I...
