Pattern: Buccaneer
Today I'm wearing my Buccaneer, so I thought I'd tell you about it. It's also pertinent because it's by Justyna Lorkowska, who has also just released Piccadilly in conjunction with Loop London, and that uses ECY Hayton 4ply, so there's a link! Buccaneer is worked end-to-end, mostly in garter stitch, with two stripe sections. For those stripe sections you can either pick chevron stripes or wave stripes. I went for the wave stripes.. New Pattern: Carved Stone Ball Socks
Introducing... Carved Stone Ball Socks, a new pattern by Sarah Foxley. I won't mess about - you can find the (FREE) pattern HERE on Ravelry. I asked Sarah about the inspiration behind the pattern, which features a textured stitch pattern, lovely comfy-looking heel-flap heels, and a star toe. Shadowlines: an architectural knit
Since it's absolutely freezing (which is warmer than many places, but still..) at the moment I thought now might be a good time to show you this amazing thing.. It's Shadowlines by Louise Zass-Bangham, from her lovely book which was released last year, Knit Play Colour. This cosy and striking wrap is made in our Whitfell Chunky. It's shown here in Natural, which I need to restock, but it'd be lovely in any of the colours. Don't be put off by the marl shades - they do show up cables. I think I sent my lovely sample knitter 11...

Featured pattern: Bothel
With yet another grey day outside, I thought I'd talk about another pattern from our cosy Drift Collection. This is Bothel, by the lovely Tracey Todhunter. It's crocheted, but if you're primarily a knitter please don't be put off by that - many of our testers were not really crocheters, and got on fine with this. It looks a bit daunting, but it's really not at all! The fabric that the stitches create is really nice and squishy and cosy - it's just perfect for today.
