Brimham 4ply: projects and patterns using merino/nylon sock yarn

This blog post is designed as a useful resource for inspiration for a specific yarn. There are projects that use it, and patterns that call for it. It's so handy to have all this in one place!  Just FYI - there are no links to Ravelry here. We've linked to patterns and projects that are available to purchase/view elsewhere. If they're only available on Ravelry we will say that, but not link to it.  Brimham 4ply is is a soft and bouncy sock yarn. The fine merino wool is the same quality as you will find in our other merino yarns...

Introducing our sparkly Rosedale 4ply yarn!

This is a really long overdue blog post (oops!), as Rosedale has been in production and proving popular for a few months now, but it’s still worth writing about I think! For those who aren’t familiar with it yet, Rosedale 4ply is superwash extrafine merino with nylon and gold Stellina which is what sparkles. It’s *really* difficult to get the sparkle to show up in photos unfortunately! But under the kitchen spotlights and in the sunshine it is absolutely gorgeous. Introducing: Keld Fingering; our beautiful new hand dyed merino/linen yarn ❤️

This is a blog post aimed at accompanying our first episode of The Wholly Irregular ECY Shedcast where I introduced a new yarn - Keld Fingering. It’s based on a transcript of the video so I hope it helps! Firstly, here it is on our website: KELD What is it?  So firstly I’ll start by telling you what Keld Fingering is - it’s a beautiful blend of 90% superwash merino with 10% linen, spun as a fingering weight (equivalent to 4ply in thickness) singles yarn. There’s 393 yards/360m to each 100g skein, so it’s a bit shorter than some of...

Moss - going green with a rich woodland shade of yarn

When the final five colours were added to the Milburn range we knew there was a gap for darker green shades, especially for more autumnal shades. We never imagined that the zingy lime green of Fern would be so much more popular than the rich woodland green of Moss. 🙈 Here's some gorgeous inspiration for you! Hands up who wants to make allllll the things now?! ✋ Designs using Moss Flitcha by Brian Smith This gorgeous textured cowl actually calls for Bowland DK in Moss, but four balls of Milburn DK would be perfect. It looks cosy!   Slouch socks by Anna...
