Pendle Chunky: projects and patterns using our chunky merino yarn

This blog post is designed as a useful resource for inspiration for a specific yarn. There are projects that use it, and patterns that call for it. It's so handy to have all this in one place!  Just FYI - there are no links to Ravelry here. We've linked to patterns and projects that are available to purchase/view elsewhere. If they're only available on Ravelry we will say that, but not link to it.    The first part of this blog post will give you patterns that specifically call for Pendle Chunky and the second part shows you our projects using this...

Introducing: Titus Fingering-weight merino/silk hand dyed yarn

It’s time to introduce our latest new hand dyed yarn! I have been working on this for a few weeks, making sure that it’s as good as it sounded, so here we are!   The new yarn is Titus Fingering. I’m sure many of you will be familiar with my Titus range - I’ve had Titus 4ply for the full ten years that I’ve been in business. Its name harks back to a time before I started taking name inspiration from local places so it sort of doesn’t fit in with the brand any more, but it’s such an...

Introducing: the need for tweed, with Keswick Fingering and Keswick DK yarns

They debuted in June and I did a Shedcast episode about them, so this blog post is to go with that. It’s not a direct transcript because I find that typed up blog posts work better following their own narrative, but I will make sure I cover everything that I covered in the video in case you cannot watch it.  Firstly, let me tell you exactly what it is - it’s 85%...

Keld Fingering: projects and patterns using our merino and linen blend yarn

This blog post is designed as a useful resource for inspiration for a specific yarn. There are projects that use it, and patterns that call for it. It's so handy to have all this in one place!  Just FYI - there are no links to Ravelry here. We've linked to patterns and projects that are available to purchase/view elsewhere. If they're only available on Ravelry we will say that, but not link to it.  Keld Fingering is a beautiful blend of superwash merino with linen. The linen stands out on medium-dark colours as it doesn't take the dye the same...

Introducing: Keld Fingering; our beautiful new hand dyed merino/linen yarn ❤️

This is a blog post aimed at accompanying our first episode of The Wholly Irregular ECY Shedcast where I introduced a new yarn - Keld Fingering. It’s based on a transcript of the video so I hope it helps! Firstly, here it is on our website: KELD What is it?  So firstly I’ll start by telling you what Keld Fingering is - it’s a beautiful blend of 90% superwash merino with 10% linen, spun as a fingering weight (equivalent to 4ply in thickness) singles yarn. There’s 393 yards/360m to each 100g skein, so it’s a bit shorter than some of...
