Introducing Azalea: a new shade of Milburn

Nearly two years ago (!) we announced that four shades of Milburn would be replaced. We are so excited to now announce that the final new shade is Azalea. Azalea is a light, zingy pink with a hint of coral. You may be wondering about the choice of another pink to add to the palette but I feel like this is a proper pinky pink. Althaea is a much softer dusky pink and Bramble is a mid-tone purply pink so I think this fits really well in the middle of these shades.  Here is how Azalea looks with other colours. For more...

Introducing: Titus Fingering-weight merino/silk hand dyed yarn

It’s time to introduce our latest new hand dyed yarn! I have been working on this for a few weeks, making sure that it’s as good as it sounded, so here we are!   The new yarn is Titus Fingering. I’m sure many of you will be familiar with my Titus range - I’ve had Titus 4ply for the full ten years that I’ve been in business. Introducing… the need for tweed!   At this point you may have already heard of two of our new (for 2020) yarns - Keswick Fingering, and Keswick DK. They debuted in June and I did a Shedcast episode about them, so this blog post is to go with that. It’s not a direct transcript because I find that typed up blog posts work better following their own narrative, but I will make sure I cover everything that I covered in the video in case you cannot watch it.  Firstly, let me tell you exactly what it is - it’s 85%...

Keld Fingering: projects and patterns using our merino and linen blend yarn

This blog post is designed as a useful resource for inspiration for a specific yarn. There are projects that use it, and patterns that call for it. It's so handy to have all this in one place!  Just FYI - there are no links to Ravelry here. We've linked to patterns and projects that are available to purchase/view elsewhere. If they're only available on Ravelry we will say that, but not link to it.  Keld Fingering is a beautiful blend of superwash merino with linen. The linen stands out on medium-dark colours as it doesn't take the dye the same...

Titus 4ply: projects and patterns using our classic merino/silk blend yarn

It occurred to us recently that it might be really useful to have an ECY way to browse patterns and projects made using specific yarns, for inspiration and ideas. It's one of those things where once you think of it it seems blatantly obvious 🙈🤣  Just FYI - there are no links to Ravelry here. We've linked to patterns and projects that are available to purchase/view elsewhere.  Titus 4ply is probably our best selling yarn and is a firm favourite with many of our customers. It's certainly one of the oldest types and the fact that it is still going strong...
