Tempo 4ply: projects and patterns using our original merino/nylon sock yarn

It occurred to us that it might be really useful to have an ECY way to browse patterns and projects made using specific yarns, for inspiration and ideas. It's one of those things where once you think of it it seems blatantly obvious 🙈🤣  Just FYI - there are no links to Ravelry here. We've linked to patterns and projects that are available to purchase/view elsewhere.  Tempo is a brilliant all-round 4ply sock yarn - it softens considerably after washing for next-to-skin wear. With the nylon content being paired with a more coarse/less fine merino fibre, it is especially hard wearing...

Introducing Pendle Sport - our first sport weight yarn in extrafine merino

Pendle Sport is the same super soft and bouncy extrafine merino found in our other Pendle yarns. It is robustly structured but also has some drape (depending on the gauge it's used at), and is lovely and soft and smooth. Our yarn testers found that as a sport weight yarn this can also be substituted in for 4ply/fingering weight yarns assuming you can make gauge. It has great stitch definition and works beautifully for cables. The stats: 100% Superwash Extrafine Merino100g300m/328yds3 - 5mm needles (US 2.5 - 8)3 - 5mm hook13 WPIIdeally handwash but should also survive a gentle machine...

Introducing Keld Twist: merino and linen fingering weight yarn with a twist

You may be familiar with our other merino/linen yarns Keld Fingering and Keld Aran which have been popular since their introduction over the past couple of years. Our newest yarn combines the qualities of these two yarns to give a two ply fingering/4ply weight yarn which is soft enough to wear next to skin and has a rustic effect due to the linen being visible throughout the yarn. These linen fibres don't take the dye and so the yarn has a subtle marled effect which is more striking for darker colourways.  Stats: 83.3% superwash merino, 16.7% linen100g375m/410yds2.5 - 4mm needles (US 1-6)2.5...

Titus Fingering: projects and patterns using our merino/silk singles yarn

It occurred to us that it might be really useful to have an ECY way to browse patterns and projects made using specific yarns, for inspiration and ideas. It's one of those things where once you think of it it seems blatantly obvious 🙈🤣  Just FYI - there are no links to Ravelry here. We've linked to patterns and projects that are available to purchase/view elsewhere.  Titus Fingering is a beautiful luxury singles yarn which has that classic shine and lustre from the silk, but also has the structure and bounce of merino wool. It strikes us as primarily a garment...

Pattern recommendations for Bowland Lace

We thought it would be really useful to have a blog post of pattern recommendations for our Bowland Lace yarn (we also have Askham Lace - baby alpaca/silk - and Titus Lace - merino/silk - which would work too) as 2ply laceweight isn't the easiest to know what to do with other than lace shawls. These are versatile yarns though and there's so much more than you can do with them.  Before I continue - just a reminder - Bowland Lace is 100% superwash British Bluefaced Leicester wool which is soft, springy, lightweight, and more woolly than our other lace...
