We thought it would be really useful to have a blog post of pattern recommendations for our Bowland Lace yarn (we also have Askham Lace - baby alpaca/silk - and Titus Lace - merino/silk - which would work too) as 2ply laceweight isn't the easiest to know what to do with other than lace shawls. These are versatile yarns though and there's so much more than you can do with them.  Before I continue - just a reminder - Bowland Lace is 100% superwash British Bluefaced Leicester wool which is soft, springy, lightweight, and more woolly than our other lace...

We are proud of all our yarns, but of course our British wool ones are a particular source of joy. Our Bowland and Milburn yarn ranges have been an intergral part of our offering for years, with Bowland going right back to the beginning of ECY in 2011. Bowland is 100% superwash British Bluefaced Leicester wool; and Milburn is that but with silk blended in - plus it's mill-dyed (also in Yorkshire). Bowland DK is one of my longest-stocked yarns and has been with me since the very beginning of ECY in 2011!    Like the other siblings in the Bowland range, Bowland DK is pure superwash British Bluefaced Leicester (BFL). This wool is quintessentially British and isn't produced on a commercial scale anywhere else, so with a limited supply and ever-high demand it can be pretty costly. It occurred to us that it might be really useful to have an ECY way to browse patterns and projects made using specific yarns, for inspiration and ideas. It's one of those things where once you think of it it seems blatantly obvious 🙈🤣  Just FYI - there are no links to Ravelry here. It's ideal for such a wide range of knitting/crochet projects - being machine washable plus next-to-skin soft means it's perfect for babies...
