Bedale 4ply: projects and patterns using our baby yak/silk hand dyed yarn

This blog post is designed as a useful resource for inspiration for a specific yarn. There are projects that use it, and patterns that call for it. It's so handy to have all this in one place!  Just FYI - there are no links to Ravelry here. We've linked to patterns and projects that are available to purchase/view elsewhere. If they're only available on Ravelry we will say that, but not link to it.  Bedale 4ply is equal quantities mulberry silk and baby yak, creating a beautiful and subtle yarn. The silk gives it a gorgeous shine, the yak is really buttery soft and...

Moss - going green with a rich woodland shade of yarn

When the final five colours were added to the Milburn range we knew there was a gap for darker green shades, especially for more autumnal shades. We never imagined that the zingy lime green of Fern would be so much more popular than the rich woodland green of Moss. 🙈 Here's some gorgeous inspiration for you! Whenever I talk about yarn production and what’s involved the reaction I get is “oh wow, I didn’t know”. So I thought I would pop it up here on the blog for you all to have a read, and I hope you find it interesting and insightful. It will also help explain why we don’t have all the yarn all of the time! Anyone who’s been involved in stock management will know how complicated it can be, trying to re-order with a long enough lead time for the item to be produced and shipped to you without losing the momentum...

Want to see our first sparkly yarn??!

This morning I was out in the pouring rain photographing the sparkly yarn I've dyed for Saturday's 7am update... obviously the yarn was kept under the garden brolly but myself & camera ended up stood just outside the edge of it. I had woollies (handknits, obvs) and a waterproof on, and ended up creating a rainhat for my camera out of parcel tape and a sandwich bag. As you do. Anyway, this all means that all of the yarn photos are now up in the Facebook event page for this update, so you can see that HERE. If you mark...
