June's update preview

Seeing as our next update is on the 15th of June (7pm) and it's now the 12th I thought I'd best post the update preview! It's all Tempo 4ply, which is our superwash wool/nylon sock yarn. It knits up softly with good drape for shawls, but it's also incredibly hardwearing for socks and kids' clothes. I made my Boxy in it, and you can see a whole gallery of Tempo 4ply projects on the blog HERE. There are quite a few Cottage Originals in this update, and dyelots are five or ten skeins.  In no particular order... I will list...

Early summer dogwalking in Yorkshire

Early summer dogwalking in Yorkshire

One of the nicest things about dogwalking is seeing tthe seasons changing in more detail. So I thought I'd share what  early summer looks like in Yorkshire. This route isn't overly rural or anything - in fact we go under the A1 motorway/dual carriageway, but you don't have to walk for long to lose the noise of the traffic. Above: Oakworth 4ply in Cottage Originals 1805171211 We do always send out a newsletter a few days before updates as a reminder and it covers more than just the yarn update - we look at new pattern releases, KALs, and other things of interest...

The EYF hangover

I have to be honest: I’m still reeling from Edinburgh Yarn Festival at the weekend. I know it’s cliched but it was just so nice. There were so many different accents/languages being spoken and yet it felt like everyone was happily sharing this wonderful experience and so it didn’t matter that there might be a language barrier. In all the people we had through our stall we only had one person be rude – I think that’s a record, particularly given how insanely busy it was. If you’ve never been to EYF it is well worth travelling and queuing for...

Update Preview: Jan 2017

Morning/afternoon/evening... I hope you're all well! We've had a busy start to the year, as usual, although it's been a bit more chaotic with a 15 week old Labrador puppy about - I'm sure you'll have seen my pics on social media! It's getting easier as she gets older though and the days getting longer is helpful too. Anyway, so far is year I've mostly been busy working on wholesale yarn, but I did prepare lots of BFL Sock ready for Sunday (the 29th)'s update - it'll go live at 2pm UK time. We actually have a sparkling new website...
