Willow Hat: intro, notes, and a finished project gallery

The second accompaniment to the Willow Shawl and the final in the trilogy 🤣. The hat was much more complicated to figure out due to the decreases, and using Stitchmastery software really has been crucial in getting these patterns written up. The pattern has a fitted beanie option and a slouchy option.  If made according to the pattern this hat should use 30-50g of yarn. The full set of three Willow accessories has been designed to use almost all of two skeins of Keld Fingering. This means if you buy the yarn for the shawl you can make the mitts and hat from the...

"If you like it then you oughta knit a cat on it!"

Cat Knits by Marna Gilligan of 'an caitin beag' (she of sinister cat fame!) is a book of 16 knit designs all featuring Marna's signature kitties on a mixture of garments and accessories. It's a wide-ranging book actually - it feels like there's more than 16 items in there. Each chapter covers a different yarn weight, so there's a 4ply section, and DK section, an Aran section, and a Chunky section. FFFS! Five reasons to knit this awesome shawl.

FFFS! No not that. This is the Fuss Free Festival Shawl by Louise Tilbrook - if you're in the Everyday Knitter Facebook group you'll have undoubtedly seen posts about this. I've made two, and I know lots of other people have made more than one. So... why? 1. It's super-easy It'd be perfect for beginner knitters, and for more practised folks it's the perfect mindless TV/travel project. I made my first one (HERE on Ravelry) whilst on holiday in Norfolk with a group of ten friends, so I needed something super-easy. As I posted on the Everyday Knitter group at...

Turbine

Today we're having a closer look at Turbine, from our Drift Collection. I'm working on my own Turbine, and so many of your have commented on it on social media, so this seems like a good time to mention more about the pattern. It's worked top down, starting with a really cool German twisted cast on (there's a YouTube link in the pattern), which is followed by the yoke with twisted stitches. Anyone with a large bust like me will know how long yoke rows can get, but this hasn't been too bad so far as the pattern has kept...
